Alan Pascoe

A one-time athlete ‘before you were allowed to have contracts for sunglasses and lycra’ – who won gold at Commonwealth Games, European Championships and European Cup at 400m Hurdles, and an Olympic silver (4 x 400m).  Represented British athletics in five events and was Team captain in 1971/2.

 

On retiring from Athletics became a broadcaster with ITV and BBC Radio, and as a Lecturer in Physical Education and moved into the commercial world of Sports & Events eventually taking over the sports marketing & promotions business he joined in 1975, building API to one of the top 5 global agencies, before selling it and starting again.  He has now successfully led the growth of Chime Sports Marketing again into one of the world’s leading agencies.

 

Alan was Vice-Chairman of London’s successful bid for the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games – ‘my proudest moment, as I knew how many lives it would influence’.
