Since graduating from London Metropolitan with a Business and Marketing degree, Terry has worked in the charity sector in various marketing roles. It was at the Royal College of Physicians that he first worked in a membership role and built up a passion to provide excellent service to members.
As the Member Services Coordinator he has a privileged role in being a point of contact for our members. The aspect of his job he most enjoys is speaking to members and hearing about the fantastic work they do. He also manages Your Sported Network, the online Sported members and volunteers area. He also supports the other Member Services team members. The most important fact to note is that he is the Sported team star baker.
Outside of work Terry enjoys being with his family and friends, watching sport and keeping a close eye on the Man United score. Although Terry is in partial retirement from sport, he has been involved in sport from a young age and played in various school and club rugby, football and hockey teams. Terry’s most recent sporting role was being an aspiring Peter Schmeichel in goal, but if he was to choose one sport he loved playing the most, it would be rugby.
Terry’s most memorable sporting occasion was witnessing England brushing the Netherlands aside 4-1 in Euro 96 at Wembley. However he now feels this result could easily be reversed, sadly.
Since seeing first hand through playing sport and also speaking to community sports groups, Terry knows what sport can do within communities and the power it has in increasing wellbeing and the development of young people and communities throughout the UK.
