Asha Vijendran

Asha lives in Cardiff and is a proud Welshie, having grown up with the Black Mountains as a view from her bedroom window. This is where Asha’s sense of adventure first began. Asha loves travelling having travelled to over 60 countries, she is always looking for an opportunity to explore the world through a mini adventure or a challenge. In August 2020, she hiked the Kungsleden Trail between Abisko and Hemavan in northern Sweden, one of the world’s most famous thru hikes! The whole experience took 27 days, walking over 300 miles carrying all her own gear including tent, sleeping bag, stove and food!

Asha joined Sported in June 2021. She is an experienced Fundraising Manager having worked in the charitable sector for over 15 years. Throughout her career her focus has been supporting young people to reach their potential working for organisations such as The Prince’s Trust, Mencap and Seeds of Hope in Peru. Her roles have varied from operational delivery, strategic leadership, fundraising and business development.  In her current role at Sported her key focus is maintaining and maximising relationships with existing donors and identifying new opportunities. She achieves this through sparking an interest, strengthening engagement, and ensuring continuous stewardship to build loyalty.
