Sported – Britvic charity of the year

Transforming young lives through sport

Thank you for supporting Sported as one of your charity partners.  Every penny you raise for Sported is hugely appreciated and will, quite simply, transform young lives through sport.

We believe in the power of sport to unleash the potential in everybody.

If you need your own fitness goal, why not get off to a healthy start in 2017 with an active fundraising challenge? If you have ever wanted to run a marathon, cycle to Paris, climb a mountain or just simply move a little bit more then we can help you! Whether you get involved as a group, as an individual, at work or elsewhere here are some ideas to make your fundraising a success.

Get active in 2017 and raise funds for Sported!

    Challenge events

Take part in one of these selected UK based Challenges or let us know if you have your own place on an event.

    Organise your own activity

Why not walk, cycle or run to work for a week (or day if you live really far away)? Or fancy something a little different? Why not try to complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) over a month? Ask friends and family to sponsor you to get to work under your own steam or to clock up the miles to complete a marathon.

How your support makes a difference

£10 could provide a table tennis bat and balls, to enable a young person to try a new activity

£35 could pay for First Aid training for a new volunteer

£50 might be all it takes to support a local group with a funding application, securing their future for the next 2-3 years

£125 could fund a series of phone calls to advise a club if they’re at risk of losing their facility or space

£200 could pay for Sports Leaders training, a useful qualification for a young person’s CV

£2000 would cover the costs of a new boxing ring, a sport which helps with fitness and builds confidence and discipline too

Case study: TOKKO Youth Space

Tokko Youth Space is a youth charity that brings together young people from Luton and the surrounding areas. From its £4.7 million purpose-built facility, Tokko runs a drop-in centre and numerous support programmes to advance young people’s personal, social and educational development. It’s facilities include a climbing wall and dance studio.

“We’re really excited to be part of the Sported and Britvic Aspiration Programme. We’re always looking for different ways we can partner with local organisations for the benefit of our young people and the wider community, so I look forward to seeing the partnership develop and being given the opportunity to spread the word about Tokko’s work to a new local audience!” Andy Calvert
