London Projects and Network Intern (Part-Time)

Location: Hybrid working – two days in the London office

Role and Responsibilities

The London projects and network intern will work closely with Sported staff to deliver and facilitate events,
networking sessions and opportunities for those groups supported by Sported. They will research and identify
new opportunities, partnerships and networks to enhance our offer for community organisations.

In addition, they will:

  • Build strong relationships with the Sported membership, identifying areas of need and trends from the
    London network
  • Support the delivery of current and development of future member projects within London, including the
    development and delivery of necessary support
  • Support the delivery of our strategy for member engagement and the creation and facilitation of networks
  • Complete administration tasks including measuring the progress of projects and recording feedback.

 

About Mayor of London VRU Sports Internship Programme

The Mayor of London and the London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) launched the Young People Affected by Violence Steering Group (YPAV) in 2019, whose role is to identify ways of using physical activity and sport to achieve positive outcomes for young people.

As part of this work, the Greater London Authority Sport team, in partnership with the VRU, has funded Sported to provide a 12-month paid internship placements for two young Londoners (aged 18-24) from diverse educational and employment backgrounds as well as from identities/backgrounds typically under-represented in sport.
