London Women and Girls Development Intern (Part-Time)

Location: Hybrid working – two days in the London office

The women and girls development intern will work closely with Sported staff to deliver and facilitate events, networking sessions and opportunities for Sported members. They will research and identify new opportunities, partnerships and networks to enhance our offer for community organisations.

In addition, they will:

  • Proactively identify and build new relationships with those that could support Sported’s women and girls inclusion aims
  • Identify and respond to key external trends in women and girls inclusion to ensure Sported remains current and proactive
  • Support Sported team with developing programmes of work relating to the women and girls community
  • Work in collaboration with the communications team to develop new EDI initiatives that better reflect its diverse network of groups and volunteers, with a focus on women and girls

 

About Mayor of London VRU Sports Internship Programme

The Mayor of London and the London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) launched the Young People Affected by Violence Steering Group (YPAV) in 2019, whose role is to identify ways of using physical activity and sport to achieve positive outcomes for young people.

As part of this work, the Greater London Authority Sport team, in partnership with the VRU, has funded Sported to provide a 12-month paid internship placements for two young Londoners (aged 18-24) from diverse educational and employment backgrounds as well as from identities/backgrounds typically under-represented in sport.
