Joe Hawkins

REGIONAL SUPPORT OFFICER

As Regional Support Officer, Joe supports Sported members based in London and East of England. Driven by a passion for inclusivity, Joe aims for his work to have a positive impact on young people’s lives by ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to participate in sport. 

Joe started his journey in sport for development by volunteering at delivery level with Bristol City Robins Foundation, and Bristol City Women’s Football Club. Progressing to studying Sport and Social Sciences at University of Bath, developing a strong understanding of the political, cultural, social, and environmental factors influencing sport and society. Prior to joining Sported, Joe worked as a Community Development Officer at Access Sport, driving inclusion in sport for underrepresented groups. 
Sport has always been a massive part of Joe’s life, having been a Bristol City season ticket holder since he was a kid. Away from sport, Joe’s biggest passion is music and attending live music events – he says “Glastonbury Festival is my favourite place in the world”. Photography is a hobby of Joe’s – he enjoys capturing photos of wildlife and nature. Most importantly, Joe enjoys spending time with friends and family. 

Joe has an enthusiasm for charity activities having completed the Padstow to Rock mile-long open-water swim in 2018 and 2019 in aid of Marie Curie, abseiled a waterfall for Cancer Research UK, in addition to skydiving and volunteering for South West Children’s Hospice.
