Brenda Kelly

Northern Ireland Manager

Brenda has worked for over 28 years in the voluntary/community sector and local government both in England and in Northern Ireland.


Having established Sported in Northern Ireland in 2012, Brenda has been leading the work there for seven years having built a network of over 230 members and a team of 24 volunteers. She recognises the vital importance of partnership working and collaboration and  has developed strong relationships and collaborations with key agencies and organisations across all sectors in  Northern Ireland to help support work with Sported member groups, their young people and communities.


She is passionate about equality and supporting people and organisations to build their skills and develop their capacity in order to be better able to deliver their work in local communities. Brenda has been responsible for launching Engage Her, which supports members to understand better how to engage women and girls and in 2018 she has  launched a pilot project, to develop members’ skills in working with young people with visual impairment.
