Brenda Kelly

Northern Ireland Manager

Brenda graduated from Queens University Belfast with an English degree. She has worked for over 20 years in the voluntary/community sector and local government both in England and in Northern Ireland.


As an experienced manager, trainer and facilitator, she has extensive experience of: initiating and developing new projects; project management; training and facilitation; working with groups to develop their capacity in a range of areas such as good governance, strategic planning, involving volunteers.


Brenda has a talent for developing projects and initiatives from scratch and building them to become lasting services. She is a strategic thinker who harnesses her networking skills to build relationships and develop strong partnerships.


She is passionate about supporting people and organisations to build their skills and develop their capacity in order to be better able to deliver their work in local communities. Brenda believes that by building the skills of local groups and people that communities will become more empowered and resilient. She has first-hand experience of this at a local level in her work with small grass roots groups as a facilitator in a number of previous roles and continues this work through her role at Sported.
