Find out how to engage, communicate and adapt your sessions to best support your neurodivergent members.

With an estimated 15-20% of the population being neurodivergent, getting this right for your group is really important. Research 1 shows that neurodivergent young people participate in sports at less than half the rate of the general population, despite evidence that they benefit hugely from sports and physical activity.

Barriers to participation include limited understanding of how to support neurodivergent young people, lack of accessible facilities, and perceived lack of inclusion and adaptability from groups.

This webinar will be led by Sported’s Training, Events and Resources Co-ordinator, Carrie Martinson, a former SEN teacher and Scout leader with 11 years’ experience working with neurodivergent young people.

The webinar will address some of the most common barriers to inclusion, strategies to support your neurodivergent participants, and how to cope when things don’t go to plan.
