Connected Communities

Improving social integration through grassroots sport by supporting groups within our network to connect with other local organisations.

Delivering place-based solutions, Sported brings together interested parties such as councils, youth organisations, leisure providers and other charities, to collaborate and create real impacts.

The result is community groups who are enabled to increase their capacity and resilience to deliver localised plans and solutions, co-designed by the community, for the community.

Our Connected Communities programmes have delivered greater cohesion and impacts in London, Isle of Wight and Hartlepool.

Currently, we are overseeing a Connected Communities project in Rhyl, North Wales with funding from Burbo Bank.

Our work in Rhyl engages over 70 community organisations in identifying challenges and solutions to local needs. The network created opportunities to share ideas, resources, learning, support and established a community Facebook page.

The network has also secured funding for sustainability of the programme over three years.
