AMBASSADORS
Our amazing ambassadors work closely with us to use their profile to spotlight grassroots sport and the challenges that people and local organisations face
Sported Ambassador
Caroline Weir
“A lot has changed for the better but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Women and girls often feel a lack of confidence in being physically active and many have had bad experiences in the past that mean they’re reluctant to come back into sport.
“Women and girls have different needs and I want to use my position, and my role as Ambassador for Sported, to highlight these – but also to do something to help and bring change.”
Caroline Weir, Real Madrid and Scotland footballer
Sported Ambassador
Aaron Phipps MBE PLY
Paralympic Gold Medal winning, Kilimanjaro on his hands and knees climbing and inspirational speaker extraordinaire Aaron Phipps MBE PLY has been an ambassador for Sported since February 2026.
His message of perseverance and determination, energy and endurance moves everyone who hears it, and having started out through grassroots sport, Aaron is such a believer in the power that it holds and change that it can make. He has already met a number of our groups, and was a guest of honour at the 2026 Sported Awards.
“Young people desperately need community sports groups. It opens up so many opportunities that they all fully deserve.
“I am very concerned at what the next few months will bring and the lasting impacts this crisis will leave and I would urge people to do what they can to help keep the doors of these groups open.”
Eric Dier, Monaco and England defender
