deutsche bank sporteducate

Sporteducate was a programme designed to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across London, using sport as the hook to take part in education sessions that would help them to stay in school, training or employment

Sported and Deutsche Bank worked together to design a programme which tackled the root causes of high levels of youth unemployment – limited employability skills and the lack of engagement in school.

The Sporteducate programme provided a combination of education, sport and mentoring to provide young people with the extra-curriculum support, skills and focus to stay in school and go on to further education, training and employment

We measured the following at the beginning and end of the programme, and significant increases were seen across all outcomes:

  • Attitude to learning
  • Attendance at school, college, training or work
  • Aptitude and employment
  • Academic achievement
  • Aspirations for the future
  • Self-esteem & confidence

Sportedcuate was part of Deutsche Bank’s wider CSR project, Born to Be, which focused on young people reaching their potential.
