Rehana Koser
ENGLAND NATIONAL MANAGER (NORTH)
Based in Burnley, Lancashire, Rehana is passionate about supporting and advocating for grassroots organisations that make vital contributions to improving the lives of local young people and their communities.
Rehana has been involved in developing projects for young people and supporting the development of community groups and charities for over a decade.
She has significant experience of providing infrastructure support services to voluntary youth groups, where her focus was on providing business planning, fundraising and volunteer development support, particularly for those in disadvantaged communities. A trained facilitator Rehana also has delivered workshops and courses.
Rehana has previously worked within the education sector which more recently included the strategic development, co-ordination and implementation of the local 14-19 Education Plan across the local authority.
Rehana also has experience of developing and managing collaborative partnerships across the voluntary and statutory sector. This has included facilitating the establishment of voluntary Community Organisations Forums across Lancashire to link in with Local Children’s Trusts. In addition, whilst at Young Lancashire, she supported the development, management and co-ordination of a consortium of a large group of diverse organisations delivering youth work activities – successfully securing funding.
Rehana has first-hand experience of setting up, delivering and managing youth work projects that use sport to engage with young people. As such she is aware of the power of sport to change lives, but also the real challenges facing front-line groups who do the valuable work. This is why she is committed to the work and ethos of Sported.
