Simon is a volunteer consultant with Sported, and a co-opted member of Sported’s Finance and Audit Committee.

A Chartered Accountant, Simon has held senior finance roles in FMCG and logistics organisations and latterly ran his own rail consulting business for almost 10 years. He has worked in a range of owner-managed, private equity, FTSE 100, and foreign state-owned organisations.

As a volunteer consultant, Simon delivers finance and business planning support to Sported’s network clubs and organisations, principally but not exclusively in the South West of England.

He has participated in club hockey, rugby union, and football in playing and treasurer capacities, and follows the (mis)fortunes of Sheffield Wednesday.

Simon enjoys the variety that volunteering with Sported offers, and is continually in awe of the passion and commitment that he sees in those who give their time to Sported’s network of clubs and organisations.
