Sported celebrate their 10th anniversary in Northern Ireland

By Sported |  31st March 2022

Saturday 26th March saw Sported celebrate 10 years of being active in Northern Ireland. The Kingspan Stadium, home to Ulster Rugby, was the chosen location and brought together a truly inspirational mix of members, volunteers, Sported employees, funders, partners and ambassadors.

The main theme of the evening was impact. The impact on communities, and the way that communities have connected with each other to support young people in Northern Ireland. Throughout the evening, guests heard from a number of inspiring people who shared their stories and experiences of how Sported has changed and transformed lives.

The evening concluded with, Northern Ireland’s National Manager, Ricky Mehaffy, interviewing Sported Ambassador, Rory Best. Rory reflected on the positive impact sport has had on his life and local community, as well as the fantastic work he has witnessed from Sported members in their local communities.

It’s clear to see all of the amazing work that has taken place, and the role that sport has on the lives of young people. We look forward to another decade of impact and partnerships, and thank those who have been involved so far.

“Sported provided a volunteer, Tony Barclay, who helped us massively to secure charity status. We are so appreciative of the help and support.”

“I’ve been a volunteer mentor for over 4 years. Thoroughly enjoyed working with numerous groups on their journeys, and being one small part of the amazing institution that is Sported.”
