Race Equity Lead

Location:  Flexible (home-based, with willingness to travel to meetings when required)

This is an exciting time to join Sported as we look to amplify our inclusion work through our new Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan. We are looking to recruit an Inclusion professional who will make impact in ensuring racial representation in sport, both through your own engagement and actions with our members and stakeholders and also being a driver and source of good practice within our 50+ strong UK wide team.

As Race Equity Lead, you will have lived experience of ethnically-diverse communities and a proven track record of creating measurable impact in the sport for development sector. Reporting to our Head of People, Culture and Inclusion, you will spearhead our anti-racism work internally and externally. You will support and advocate for our members and support them in providing opportunities for young people.

You will join a team of experts in People, Culture and Inclusion. Role modelling inclusive behaviours, you will be a catalyst for positive, lasting change for young people currently facing barriers or experiencing racism in grassroots sport and physical activity.

You are a collaborative leader, able to work effectively with a range of audiences from community groups to corporate partners. With strong programme management skills and the ability to demonstrate effective leadership to our members, and across the Sported workforce, you will prioritise the outcomes of our ‘Tackling Racism in Grassroots Sport’ report by supporting groups such as the independent Black Leaders in Sport Network. You will lead, grow and shape a range of projects that champion group leaders and continue to support young people from ethnically-diverse communities
