Today, eCoach, sector leaders in sport eLearning, announces partnership with Sported, the charity that supports grassroots sports groups in the UK, as part of The Barclays Community Football Fund. Together, they are launching a range of equality online courses, from engaging teenage girls in football, to tackling anti-racism in football, which will be made available via Sported’s Hub website.
Along with engaging courses, learners will be able to access invaluable webinars, downloadable resources, bite-size videos, and social areas in a holistic learning space which is accessible for everyone.
The courses will help people understand the barriers faced around challenging topics, such as engaging with diverse communities and anti-racism, and give learners clear and strategic guidance on how these can be overcome, as well as, how to create an action plan for your sport and put the training into practice.
There will be a short assessment at the end of the courses for learners to test their knowledge, as well as the option to attend a webinar-based session following course completion to ask questions and refresh the knowledge they have acquired from the course. Learners will also receive a digital certificate and CPD points accredited by CIMSPA – The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.
The courses have been created in partnership with the best sporting experts within their field, such Women in Sport, Show Racism the Red Card, and Racing Pride.
“We are delighted to be working with eCoach to bring interactive e-learning solutions to groups delivering inclusive football as part of the new Barclays Community Football Fund. We are looking forward to seeing the impact of this partnership.”
-Joanna Di Paola, Partnerships Manager, Sported
The Barclays Community Football Fund will provide small grants to groups in a bid to make football more accessible and reduce inequalities at the grassroots level over the next three years.
Barclays have partnered with Sported to make these small grants available for groups wishing to start offering football, those keen to expand their existing provision to new audiences, or those already delivering football to under-represented groups.
“We are delighted to partner with Barclays and eCoach in offering some fantastic equality, diversity, and inclusion training for our members. We are committed to tackling inequalities at Sported and want our network to feel equipped in being able to do the same. Driving inclusion and understanding the barriers that young people in our communities face will support us in our vision of wanting every young person to have the same opportunity to fulfil their potential. “
-Isha Sadiq, Strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, Sported
“We’re excited to partner with Sported to deliver vital, wide-reaching training via their programme to improve accessibility and inclusivity within grassroots football across the UK. Both eCoach and Sported’s ethos align to help support young people within sport and we can’t wait to see the results by 2025, with thanks to Barclay’s community fund.”
-Simon Richards, Director at eCoach
Through the fund, 5,550 community groups across the UK will receive grants and support to develop inclusive football. More than 150,000 young people will be engaged in inclusive football activities.
The fund will primarily support young people in deprived or underrepresented areas through local organisations, many of whom are not yet benefitting from wider football support.
