Our work in Wales/Cymru
As Wales’ largest network of grassroot community sports groups tackling inequality for young people and communities facing disadvantage, Sported empowers the local heroes running community sport groups to strengthen communities and create brighter futures.
We take the lead in helping community groups across Wales grow stronger through volunteering. That means supporting people in leadership roles to build inclusive and representative teams, but also helping groups secure funding, plan for the future, and make a lasting impact in their communities.
Our work in Wales has a particular focus on tackling inequalities in areas experiencing socio-economic deprivation and with marginalised communities such as Ethnic Minorities, Women and Girls, LGBTQ+ and Disability. People from these communities are much less likely to benefit from the positive social outcomes of engaging in sport and physical activity.
Sported Wales is here to create opportunities and support clubs and organisations to make a transformational impact — through inclusive programmes, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to equity in sport and physical activity.
